Notes To Parents
Winter Weather Cancellations: The weather so far has been very good to us. However, we all know that is will soon be here. If the weather is bad, please check our web-site (www.performancedancecentre.com) for cancellation of classes. If Ames Public School is cancelled or is dismissed early due to bad weather, we will also cancel classes. We will not make-up the first cancelled class due to weather. If a class misses more than one day due to the weather, we will make every effort to make up the class. The make-up class may not be until the threat of bad weather is over.
Sunday Classes: With competition season beginning in January, there is a possibility that a couple of Sunday classes may be cancelled due to a competition being held on a Sunday. We do not receive each competition's schedule until the week before a competition. If there is a need to cancel class, it may be a last minute notification. Sunday classes have two extra days built in during the year to accomodate this possibility. Every class meets 32 times and Sunday classes meet 34 times. We will let you know as soon as possible if a cancellation is needed for any Sunday classes.

DMA Title Competition: Brody Pietz, Spencer Droste, & Madison Shelton, participated in the Dance Masters of America (Chapter 47) Title competition on January 20 & 21. These student's were involved in scholarship auditions, judges interviews, learning choreography for the opening number, and performing their solo. Madison received a 1st place acro scholarship, 2nd place ballet scholarship, and was 3rd runner up for Junior Miss Dance. Spencer received a 1st place scholarship for acro, ballet, tap, and jazz. Brody received a 2nd place scholarship for jazz and 3rd place scholarships for ballet, acro, and tap. Brody was crowned Junior Mr. Dance and Spencer was crowned Petite Miss Dance. Spencer and Brody will be representing DMA Chapter 47, in Anaheim, California from June 28-July 8th. Congratulations to all of you and good luck in California!
Classroom Reminders: Please remember the following when coming to class - Use the restroom prior to coming into the classroom - Have appropriate dancewear and shoes - Have hair pulled back - Be on time.
